Welcome - again!

I feel like I have been neglecting my blog as of late. So as a treat, I have purchased a new domain and moved from Jekyll to Hugo. I was finding it difficult to work with my blog on the go using Jekyll. I know there’s the argument of why not use Docker, but my choice of personal laptop for travel (where I write these posts) is a Microsoft Surface Go which I would rather not fill with bloat.

Publishing and previewing blog posts was taking a long time, as I would check in the change to Git, wait for the Azure DevOps Pipeline to run and then preview it on my staging Azure Blob Storage account. All whilst battling the intermittent connectivity on a train.

Switching to Hugo should mean that I can be more productive with my updates as I can work 100% offline.

I do have a plan to migrate my previous posts to this blog, however this will take some time.

Perhaps this time around I will have some more structure around my posts.
